What Is Home Health Care?
Home health care is a wide range of health care services that are provided at the patient’s residence for an illness or injury. Home health care may include: nursing care, physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapist, social work, and home health aide. The goal of home health care is to treat an illness or injury. Home health care helps patients get better, regain their independence, and become as self-sufficient as possible.
Examples of skilled home health services include:
• Wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound
• Patient and caregiver education
• Intravenous or nutrition therapy
• Monitoring serious illness and unstable health status
Who Pays For Home Health Services?
Patient’s insurance provider will cover costs of the services. However, the agency will alert you in the event that the services are not fully covered by your insurance provider.
